2.0 Duratec - recommended jobs while on an engine stand
Discussion
Hi all,
Building a track car from a Fiesta ST150 which had a blown engine - I've sourced a replacement but wondered if anyone had a list of jobs recommended while it's out the car. I've already settled on checking the rod bearings, but otherwise I can't find any obvious items to check.
I appreciate it might just be "nothing"
Thanks

They're well known for the piston oil control rings sticking. This leads to huge oil consumption which will likely have been what caused the demise of the ST150 one.
The only cure is to strip it, pistons out, new rings and hone bores.
Whilst you're at it you could fit the head from your ST engine if it's undamaged and gain the power back from fitting the Mondeo unit.
