Seat Mii Electric/E-Up etc.
Discussion
Anyone have any experience with the newer versions of these? The Mii is on a really cheap lease deal at the moment (£6776 for 3 years at 10k a year) and I'm looking to get it as a runaround/commuter for me and my better half. I've driven the old E-Up and it was pretty good, but looking for thoughts living with the new one and things like service costs..
Mii is only in one spec (unlike the VW and Skoda siblings) so it has heated seats, cruise control, CCS rapid charging, etc. I think all the paint colours are free too. The boot board is one of the few extras at £70 and worth having.
Those lease deals are really good value if the car works for you size-wise. Even meant to be OK on the motorway.

Have you looked at the MG ZS EV? I know it may not be as "prestige" but it is bigger and has better range.
Way too big for her, she's replacing her yaris. Deal has gotten even cheaper, but we think 2 years might be better, gives her two years to 'transition' to a more basic ev before upgrading to a new model in '23
I looked at the Skoda early last year. I was putting £180 a month in fuel in to my car, so swapping to a new car and electric worked out around £40 a month. These are cheaper. What I couldn't get past was that a £5k second hand petrol was still a lot cheaper over the term and got cheaper over time.
Then Covid and my second car has done 200 miles all year, so the maths don't work at all now. That and Skoda pulled the CityGo after 400 sales.

As I mentioned on the lease deal thread, we’ve ordered one of these for April delivery.
Taken a 6+23 @£154, so 2 years of motoring for about £4400.
This is partly so Mrs Cjelli can stop using our big car, which uses £35 or more in fuel a week for her commuting and various errands.
Free car for two years!
Has anyone else had a go in one yet? We’re buying blind, but not concerned, we’ve had electric cars previously. Only shame is that it’s not coming till spring, so the preheating will be wasted until next winter.

We ordered on the 2 years deal too. Grey with black roof (we liked black but I hate keeping them clean)
Re: getting a petrol 2nd hand car, when I did the sums the gap wasn't amazing, OH has had a Yaris nearly 4 years now. Paid £8k for it, warranty ran out last year and it will need moting twice and tyres within two years. She's always working from home alot right now but will be going in 2 days a week once corona calms down, so it won't be utilised much as my diesel Estate gets the same mpg and is nicer to drive.
So the costs for keeping the yaris for two years:
£70 Mots (atleast)
£60 tax
£1200-1800 in depreciation
Not counting in any repairs (brakes will need doing soonish)
And that's with it (and the insurance she's paying) being hardly used.
Then there's the fuel savings, I can charge at work for free and we have a cheap overnight tariff here too, so between us sharing it for commuting and localish errands. So I'm estimating about
That's about £1600 over the two years.
So worst case we're a few hundred down, but crucially we can have pre-heated commutes and zero effort driving for two years

Not impressed with stone acre so far.
Firstly when sending the final order form they sent us someone else's quite instead (god knows where our order form ended up)
Then we get an email from someone else yesterday asking when we want the car, but to wait for her to send the delivery dates of the car (came today) first.
Get an email from her today saying she doesn't know when the car we be delivered?
