Trail Bike Narrow Bars
Discussion
Afternoon all
Having been without a bike for a few years, I now fancy a bit of green laneing on probably a CRF250L.
I think the stock bar width is 815mm which is probably too wide to get it round the back of the house.
So the question is, what sort of bar width would be do’able for a duel sport type bike??
Cheers

I'd go with the maximum that fits your back of the house requirements.
Can't beat that advice If it's too tight to be practical it wouldn't take 5 mins to pull the bars and bolt a short bar in their place just to move them around the back - it's similar to those who fit wheelbarrow front wheels to get bikes in their vans.

Just buy some new bars and trim down, it'll easily take 40mm-50mm off without much bother. The OEM bars are crap anyway, first off and they will break, replace them now.
Changed that for you, standard bars likely to leave you stranded after a fall.OP, if its only a gate post and drain pipe, can't a little wiggling of bars get you through, can weave my off road bikes trough a pedestrian door somewhatnarrower than the bars.

Yes the bars on the MTB (760mm) need wagging to get in.
But I think a small trim off after market bars will be the way forward.
Just got to work out which bike to buy now!
Thanks all.
If you can waggle an MTB @ 760mm then you'll get a M/C in at 815(ish). Just lean the bike over more to get the required waggle room, no need ot cut the bars down.I used ot get my KTM 400 EXC through a standard width UK door @ 762mm out the back of the garage into the garden...But I think a small trim off after market bars will be the way forward.
