4 Series 'best' options
Discussion
Hello,
I'm planing to get a 4 series coupe in the next few months.
It will be a 2017/18/19 auto, probably a M Sport 420d, but may stretch to a 440i.
However I'm not sure of what optional extras I want in the car
What options do you guys love, and the ones you could live with out?
The only two things that have caught my aye are the digital dash, and full screen width infotainment thing.
thanks
Ali

Comfort pack is pretty good - door handle touch lock/unlock; can't remember whether that pack also includes folding rear seats meaning you can get a bike in the back - that was a must for me. The adaptive lights were a very expensive option (an hence less common) - although they were a novelty on my wife's previous 330d and made me chuckle to myself, seeing them throw light around cars in front, I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to get them. Pro nav is a must have from an aesthetic point of view, if nothing else. Adaptive suspension, again, was an expensive option and hence pretty rare. Folks with it usually sing its praises.
Otherwise M Sport + came with 'blue' uprated brakes, Harman Kardon sound (very good), 19" alloys and black door mirror covers.

I wouldn’t bother with the digital dash - the HUD is much better (you don’t get cars with HUD and digital dash I believe). Digital dash is a gimmick on these cars in my view as it isn’t a proper configurable panel, but instead just a set of digital dials.
LED headlights are amazing. High beam assist is rubbish though unless you like dazzling drivers for 2 seconds before it reacts. Big brakes is a good upgrade. Pro nav is essential. Wouldn’t put adaptive springs on the list as they aren’t a game changer and difficult to find - the m sport suspension is a good compromise.

Regarding the folding mirrors, does anyone know...
When the F32 was still on the BMW configurator "electric folding mirrors" were an option. Does this mean that if you didn't specify this they would still fold, but not electrically, or that they wouldn't fold at all? The info on the configurator didn't make this clear.

Pro Nav is standard on all M-Sport spec of that age.
Of the none-standard options I love my sunroof and adaptive headlights/high beam assist. Other than that they come pretty well spec'd as standard.
M Sport Plus pack gives you some 'nice to haves' which I do have, but could probably live without.
