Really lovely article by Rolling Stone. Worth a read.

It's a sad fact that the final youthful part of me also died when Neil passed. He was my inspiration for anything good I've ever done with my Life.

RIP Neil

Late to this.

Listening to Rush is why I started playing the guitar in my mid teens.

I was working away in the south on Jan 7th last year, and I was suddenly bombarded with texts from friends who aren't Rush fans but know I am. It hit me like the sudden loss of a relative, in a way I would never imagine I could be affected. It still remains one of the saddest things I've ever had happen, and I'm still at a loss as to understand how it made me feel so bad at the time, and depending on the song I'm listening to by the band, continues to do.

One of a kind drummer in a one of a kind band, so many sad things in his personal life, and an early demise. RIP.

Off topic but this should interest all Rush fans:-

Peart was a awesome drummer, first saw Rush in Manchester in June 1977.

I watched some of that. I think Neil must have his drum kit assembled around him, either that or he's lowered in to his seat by crane.

Great article that. Such a sad loss.

This tour of DW Drums factory took me by surprise at 17:00 - suddently the room got all dusty.
