Instead of a TV with only 1366 x 768 resolution I thought about a monitor and a firestick for my daughters room. She doesnt watch any live tv so streaming only.
Any advice on what panel to use. One has a VA panel, the other IPS.

What size TV are you looking at? Plenty of 1080p 32” TV options.

Also, if the monitor doesn’t have active speakers built in you’ll have to have something to handle the sound.

This seems relatively good value.

ETA - If you’re looking at monitors then I’d go IPS, usually better colour reproduction and viewing angle.

Bought one of these recently - great little set/ Has most of the streaming service apps you will need built in. Works with wifi as well as wired network.

24 inch. A few have speakers built in.
Would a monitor be a better bet than a proper 24 inch smart TV?

If you want a TV get a TV rather than monitor. At 24inch you will hardly notice difference between 780P and 1080P.
