Wow, you can’t stoop much lower than this.

A fraudster claiming to work for the NHS injected a 92-year-old woman with a fake Covid-19 vaccine, City of London Police has said.
Detectives are hunting the man who charged the victim in Surbiton, south-west London, £160.
bbc said:
Police said the victim allowed the man into her home on the afternoon of 30 December after he said he was from the NHS and there to administer the Covid-19 vaccine.
She said she was jabbed in the arm with a "dart-like implement" before being charged £160, which the man said would be refunded by the NHS.
Everything you need to know about the Covid vaccine in the UK
Police said it was not known what substance, if any, was administered, but the woman had been checked at her local hospital and showed no ill effects.

If the CCTV stills are of the suspect, WTF was she doing letting him in the house?

Really makes me worry about the number of old people still clinging to their "independence" who really aren't equipped to deal with this kind of thing. In what world does a person sent by the NHS to vaccinate people turn up wearing a tracksuit? I'm angry and saddened by this. Almost glad my parents are both dead so no longer at risk, which seems an awful way to feel.

If you make it to 92 you'll be able to answer that.

Someone should be able to kick the st out of this guy surely? I can’t see that there’s be anyone in the whole world including the man himself that would say that a good kicking is not deserved.

I can not understand how people who prey on the elderly and defraud them can sleep at night.

For a sizable proportion it's a cultural thing - anyone who isn't one of them is fair game. Not sociopathy, they're just s.

Should be 10 years in prison for that, no questions asked (actual real years). But he wont serve more than a couple of months is my guess.

looks and quacks sociopathic to me. They don't see other "people", they see opportunity to grab some money without any morals whatsoever... I witnessed it when I worked briefly for a responsive maintenance outfit (emergency callout) where peoples desperation can and is systematically used to stitch them up.

The fact that he injected her will make it a physical assault, given that the substance was not what he said it was and could have had any number of consequences. I don't have a lot of faith in the law, but that should give them a fair range of options when it comes to sentencing.

The most likely people to prey on elderly are their own family. Lasting Power of Attorney is an excellent mechanism for the unscrupulous to get an advance on their inheritance. The scale of abuse via Lasting Power of Attorney probably dwarfs that of the wandering tarmac salesmen.
