:wavey: all, has anybody got or does anybody know where I can get a wiring/installation diagram for the turn indicator diode arrays?

Getting a lot of white noise though the radio when I used them and would like to try and suppress it.

Sppokily mine has just started doing this in the last couple of weeks or so. Is there some sort of suppressor on the arial that might have failed or is it part of the indicaotr circuit that has gone pop ?

When you find out Al can you let me know

Why stop there?
Why can't someone furnish us with a complete set of Tuscan wiring diagrams?

Why are these so hard to get hold of?

What possible harm could it do?

could it be that the dealers who charge an arm and both legs don't want this sort of thing getting out

Carl the meter man recently fitted Sat Nav in my Tusc.

We had two or three different Ariel configurations fitted up and still got interference.

Hence I'm trying to find the diags for him!

When we find out I'll let you know.

If they're LED's, you have lots of them, and the noise is synchronised with the flash of the indicator, be prepared for the fact that there may be nothing you can do about it.

You might be able to reduce the current through the array, and that may help with the noise, but the indicator may not be as bright.

There is quite a bit of noise from a diode. It's to do with the way in which the electrons tunnel across the PN junction and the photons are generated at the PN junction.

You can, in fact use them as noise generators. If you've got lots of them, that'll make it worse. If they're switching you'll notice it more.

There's a lot to be said for an incandesant lamp!

Edited to add;

If this is the problem, you might be ale to improve the performance of your radio, by placing a filter in the loop to the indicator. The problem is that the wideband filter that you need will always affect the flash performance of the indicator.

Yep your probably right, BUT not all Tuscans have the problem?

Is it cos mine are orange ones?

A diagram just might reveal a fix.

Indeed so.
It's because it's orange!

It could be that you have a particularly sensitive radio.

I don't have a tuscan, so I have no idea about anything but the electronics!

Any idea why mine will have only just started to do it after 4 years (well only two with me but I'm sure you get the idea) It would appear that something has failed rather than this being a designed in fault.

Could it not just be a dodgy earth connection on that circuit?
Surely a dealer would tell you gratis where this is?

Thanks but I don't think so, Carl has been fitting Radio's and the like in TVR's for a good few years, don't think he would overlook that point.

Does the noise vanish when you disconnect the arrays?

Yep, disconnect the relays and all goes quiet.
