I have to confess that I have zero knowledge of modern TV hardware so to avoid reading a load of buzz words that I don’t understand followed by buying something that doesn’t do what I need, I am requesting advice from the PH collective bow .

We have a TV in our living room. Modern smart setup that is connected only via wifi, no conventional aerial socket in close range.

In other rooms we have traditional TVs connected to aerial for freeview stuff plus DVD/HD recorders.

Where the aerial cable comes into the house it goes into a small booster and is then distributed to various points (but not the living room which was built later and for various reasons it is impractical to get an aerial connection in there).

Is there a straightforward way of doing one/both of these options -

1. Have a DVD/HD recorder in another room that can transmit to the smart TV and be controlled from within the living room.

2. Have an aerial connection from the booster to the smart TV that is wireless.

No2 is probably the ideal if such a thing exists but the local signal is not strong enough to just use an indoor aerial.

Thanks!

Everything you can watch on Freeview via an aerial, you can stream to your Smart TV via WiFi. Which makes the aerial connection and Freeview recorder requirement redundant.

Look for a new Amazon Firestick or similar if your Smart TV needs updated functionality.

So does that allow to view all previous freeview stuff on demand? I have a firestick but haven’t seen how to do that?
