I would assume, therefore, that contributors or readers of this part would have at least a passing interest in the law. That would be reasonable, yes?

This deserves greater recognition. 
This was originally where posters could ask questions and debate answers. It has never been an exclusive place for people who have an interest in the law and lawmaking. That is why you get people who interpret things differently.
