Dim LED lights?
Discussion
The rear interior light in my Fiat Scudo van is terrible and I spend too much time searching around the van for bits when it’s dark
I had some 12v led strip left over from an interior project which I thought would be an easy fix so today I popped the rear light off and tested the strip against the rear terminals, it lights up but is extremely dim, this doesn’t matter if the van is running or not
Any ideas where I’m going wrong?

If the van has a CANBUS system then an LED bulb will not work/work properly unless the LED bulb is 'CANBUS' ready
Interior bulbs are rarely canbus moniterdAt least not on any car I've seen
Check the voltage the the rear lift my bed is a bad earth or live feed causing low voltage

Measure the voltage across the lamp and compare it to the voltage across the battery. If they are different, you have a wiring fault. You can measure the voltage between battery -ve and lamp -ve, and between battery +ve and lamp +ve, to see which side the voltage drop is on. It should be easy to trace from there.
