I have a brass header tank, two halves soldered, it needs a fix inside.

I need an old school radiator shop, where is there one?

Isle of Wight....

So I think realistically we're looking at a postal job.

Ben, I know Serck Marston used to have branches in most major towns. Always been my go to choice.

I know a couple of people who’ve used this firm in the past and been happy with the work.

Clearflow Radiators Darlington were really "old school" last time I passed.
Also Advance Radiators and Charlton Radiators in Newcastle

Just checked Advanced now in Washington, Charlton seem to have vanished.
Clearflow still on the go

I used this guy to build a custom rad for me:

https://www.regalrads.com/index.html

It's literally one guy in a shed. The rad work was very good. Price-wise, he basically rebuilt one rad from two, re-using some of the original headers, with a built in oil cooler and a brand new 4-way core, for about £300. Quite a long wait tho.

Definitely an old-school radiator shop!

I've used Anglia Radiators in Cambridge and been very pleased with the service.

I've used Kingston Radiators in Shirley Southampton before which was another old school bloke in a shed operation. No idea if they're still in business in the current situation though.

It's satisfying to see that despite it being unlikely that anyone has a rad repaired for a modern car, there's no shortage of people who can still do a repair.

Obv classic rads will need work, also something that Guildford Rads told me they work on is construction plant - you can't go into Eurocarparts and buy a new rad for an excavator because they'd only sell one ever 20 years, and it would be HUGELY expensive so a bloke in a shed with a soldering flame will be needed for many years.

If you haven't got enough suggestions yet, there is a company on the Bicester site who do anything and everything to do with radiators.

I was going to say this. Never had cause to use them but I cycled past there the other day and it does have a pleasingly old school look to it. Just the kind of place I used to frequent with my Dad.
