Hi all, I did a post many moons ago when I got this, but better to update.

The box

It's a lovely thing, dense and heavy. Apparently people use them as humidors. Opening the brass latch gives you this:

Brass hinges and leather case. The leather box can be lifted out.

The watch itself is very easy to wear. Discreet, it never catches on shirts. It's heavy on the wrist (case must be very heavy for its size), but never intrusive. If drinking you do have to pay attention to the actual time... biggrin

I was very happy to find one, I would have preferred a white face, but the blue dial is just stunning.

You had me when I saw the Box.
A thing of beauty no doubt about that.
I have a similar one, made of Olive Wood near my chair to keep 'My Thing's' in.
But when I saw the watch???
I just thought of Alice in Wonderland, Willy Wonker,
(in a good way).
Sorry not for me, it just looks, well, a bit too Mad !
Everyone to their own as they say.
Enjoy it.
That box though. Beautiful.

Is this the one where the hour hand jumps to the correct number?

Mechanism must be pretty interesting! I remember reading about these watches a while back.

Certainly a quirky piece! smile

It's such a lovely thing and may, if not already, become an iconic watch. Jumping 5 hours forward, on the hour, is bonkers - but does mean you take note of the time.

I like it. And the box! Thanks for posting the pics.

I‘ve lusted after one for years. Congratulations!

I tried the Totally Crazy on at their Geneva boutique about 8 years ago after trying the ‚standard‘ crazy hours on first. With the jumping date dial in the centre, it‘s even more impressive. I‘m sure the purists look down on it as a modified ETA movement, but I don‘t care.

With a retail price of about £25k they are sadly more than I‘d want to spend on a watch and they rarely come up second hand.

Having said that, if I‘d seen the one for sale that I‘ve copied the picture from when it was available at €11,500, I‘d have been all over it.
