People and friends,

Please help me to understand how Epson Printer Ink works - I really am baffled by it.

We're on our second Epson printer - the model escapes me, but what used to confuse me was how quickly the ink ran out. We were getting through a suite of cartridges in less than a month, with a replacement cost of circa £25 for all 4 cartridges from the official Epson store.

Epson has this ReadyPrint flex plan where for a sum of £1.29 per month we have a monthly allowance of 30 pages after which a suite of cartridges will automatically be sent to our address. Given this security, we've been using the printer non-stop, especially now that my daughter is homeschooling. We're averaging 30 plus pages per month at least, sometimes more.

Now, here's the confusion: we haven't had to physically change ink cartridges since last July! Can the ink be topped up by Wifi? Does Epson send an Elf during the night to top up our cartridges?

It's a mystery to me, but I'm sure there's an explanation for it.

Whilst I assume this is not a serious suggestion - I had to quote it for posterity!! rofl
