Synthetic Alcohol
Discussion
I was watching Food Unwrapped and they did a bit about synthetic alcohol. It's being released in select bars in January 2021. [Internet search]

So it gets you pissed still? Is says on the website you can mix it with alcohol?
I don’t know about pissed, but they said something about getting some of the effects without any of the drawbacks. No mention of strength as such, but is it comparable to beer, wine or spirits? How much can/do you drink? I shall have to conduct my own investigation in about 2 weeks time.

If you convince a group of people they're on the sauce, they'll all act AND FEEL pissed even though they're drinking vinegar or fruit juice or whatever.
Personally I'd me much happier if someone could flog me some booze that really tastes like booze but didn't get me pissed. Or perhaps a catalyst you could eat before drinking booze that converts the alcohol to vinegar in your stomach before it can enter your blood?

It sounds like his Alcarelle idea might have come to fruition.
