Yamaha RD500 - I remember when these were around £ 3,500.00 for a nice one. Very nearly bought one back then (just after I bought an RG500 for similar money.

Honda NSR250 MC21 250 SP (Especially in the Rothmans colours). Nearly bought one at £ 5k but these are heading for double that now.

Bimota V-Due - Love these especially with the Jolly Moto pipes but just too expensive now.

Honda RC30 - I remember when you could get a nice one for around £ 8k (around the time when Rg500's were £ 3,5 k).
That ship has sailed now unfortunately.

MK1 Moto Guzzi Le Mans 850, remember the launch and seeing them in Sports Motorcycles in Manchester (no longer there). Would still love one today the other Kawasaki GPZ900R.

BMW R90S. I could just about have afforded one in the early '80s but wanted a 1000cc instead. The 1000's have done well price wise, but the R90S has gone ballistic.

The smoke orange was the most common but I preferred the smoke grey - like this one!

Triumph X75. But I did have a T160.
Norton Commando 850. But I did have a few 750 Bonnies.
BSA A65 Firebird. But I did have an A7.
Guzzi LeMans 1,2 or 3. But I did have a V11 LeMans.

So I don't feel like I missed out too much with them.

But the one that really got away was a Laverda Jota RGA Sprint.

I mostly missed out on the 2-stroke thing too (except my learner H100S and a Can-Am Bombarder 250 2T single which was fun but very unreliable), so I'll say an RGV250 too.

Absolute minter of an RC30 offered to me in 93 for £5500, bought a Blade instead after test riding both! Think it was the single seat and g/friend playing with my head.

Interestingly the british stuff has dropped a bit but the early japanese stuff has rocketed.

I bought a 1977 z1000 12 years ago for £2k. I wish I'd scoured the country and bought them all.

A mate of my dads used to race back in the late sixties and most of the seventies so when the Yamaha TD/TR two strokes started to make the four strokes obsolete he bought up every Manx Norton he could get his hands on...

Personally I wish I'd picked up a GSXR1100 when they could be had for pennies frown

I'm not going to ask about an Aprilia RS250

Almost bought a mint Ducati 750SS, the original one in the early 90's. I already had a 900SS and MHR, while the 750SS was more than twice the price at 12,000 quid. Went for a test ride, and decided it wasn't as good as my 900SS, and besides I didn't like the the colour scheme.. silver with a weird green frame.. so went off and bought a new Harley instead,,, rolleyes

750SS now go for an awful lot more than £12,000..
