V8V badge delete
Discussion
My car has the badge delete too, just leaving the wings. I’m happy as it saved me taking them off myself and I just think it looks cleaner. To quote a famous movie: “Badges? We don’t need no stinking badges”
Nobody can possibly be embarrassed about owning an Aston.

At work we have two badges. One which has my name and photo on it and gets me through security doors. The other is bright yellow and says "Hello, my name is Peter"
I remain unconvinced of the need to wear two name badges so guess which one has remained in my drawer ever since I was delivered it, having refused to go and collect it?
My Vantage, however, does wear two badges and I'm perfectly happy with that because they tell uninitiated people two different things. One tells them that it is an Aston Martin and the other tells them that it is only a "Vantage S" and so is not afflicted with the optional heavier engine which upsets the balance and detracts from the handling purity

I can see why you want it out but I can also see why you want it and I am glad I have it. I feel like it is a service to others, since in Italy it is quite the rare car, so at least they know what model it is; I often catch people in my rear view mirror looking at the car reading "Aston Martin" aloud while snapping a quick picture.
Anyway, from just the title I was thinking you were talking about the wings emblem and I was like "this is heresy".

I’ve kept the v12 badge on the back of mine so the vantage s driver knows what left them for dead 😜

That's very considerate of you.At Donington you may have a chance. At Cadwell Park you'd be nowhere

If I was at a race circuit I'd take my 210bhp car - no badge on the back. You wouldn't get close

Purpose designed racecars really make a mockery of most roadcars - as an example - supercharged Aston v8 (VH ) at MIRA - 54seconds, 1000c racecars( like mine ) c 41seconds ... Shelsley 34s v 26ish ( and cost ... £15k ... ) No good for shopping thou.

With Mercedes C-class models, badge delete is popular on the 2 litre diesel, but rare for the similar looking 510 bhp petrol model.
Funny that!
A bit like people who buy the "RS Line" Audis because maybe other people don't know.
It’s interesting that a thread about the Vantage badge popped up as I was just about to ask for opinions.
I’m having full PPF installed next month (after paint correction) and the badges are going to be removed during the process. I like things that look truly balanced and in my eye the Vantage badge on the trunk (boot) lid seems to go against that.
I like the simple Aston Martin Wings by themselves which I think look classic.
What I really don’t like is the new option of having Aston Martin written on the back.

Not trying to be a smart-Alec here but how are they going to do that and does it work? The original Vantage badge will be held in place by a specialised double-sided adhesive, probably something like a die-cut pressure-sensitive acrylic foam adhesive tape (the foam to ensure complete contact). This is applied directly to the paint. But after PPF they are going to be attaching the badge to a piece of film that has, at best, a low-tack adhesive. Also, if they are going to re-apply your badges, what are they going to use to stick it?

This I also agree with, but I believe that the Aston wings are not as well recognised in certain markets as they are in places like the UK and USA. I also think that certain markets like having the name spelled out so there's no doubt about what you're driving (or being driven in). Other marques are also going the same way.LTP said:
