It would be terribly handy for me to store very small encrypted text files on a USB pendrive. However I need to be able to open this in both Windows and Android environments. I am looking at Kruptos to Go but I am pretty sure it doesn't do what I want, any suggestions folks?

Would it not be easier and safer to use a cloud facility like google drive?

Unfortunately not in this instance, quite often no net access.

For boggo USB hardware, how about Trucrypt? Nice little hidden partition on there, with innocent mp3s to camouflage?
Or go for something geeky, like a YubiKey? Storage and userauth?

I am suitably chastised. I have used both VeraCrypt and TrueCrypt before but didn’t realise there was an Android unlocker, http://sovworks.com/eds/ Many thanks folks, most helpful.

Truecrypt shutdown very suddenly years ago. Naturally leading people to suspect a government was involved (same as Lavabit shutdown).

Small enough it would fit in a keepass database? That's available for both.
