Being half Dutch I am embarrassed at the antics carried out for the benefit of the TV cameras who quite accidentally happened to be there very early one morning or late in the evening.

Given that the drivers accent wasn't even an English accent I have further suspicions.

The way to stop this nonsense would be to stop every flower wagon coming into the UK from Holland, a trade worth some 855 million Euros per year , whilst our team of expert horticultralists check each stem, bud and flower for anything untoward.

Remember Dutch Elm Disease ? They have previous.

After a few days of rotting flowers on the quays they may be be more sensible.
