Weird climate control

I have a 2015 7 series f01 with 4 zone climate and by in large it works fine except for the drivers zone which has a mind of its own.
The air con works fine and can cool all 4 zones no problem.
However the heater in the drivers zone keeps blowing cold air for about 5 seconds at a time before then blowing warm air again.
Let's imagine an icy cold day freezing outside. Set all 4 zones the same at 23° c. All 3 zones will blow warm air until the desired 23° is reached except the 1 drivers zone which blow some warm air, then cold air then warm air then cold and so on until the overall cabin temp is up to the desired 23°
Is this a broken driver thermostat or something else? If it is the thermostat where is it located and can it easily be changed?
