OK - so whats the best method and where are good jacking points?

I aim to get the whole car up so that I can turn the centre air vent around under the car.

Is it easy enough to get a trolley jack under there or is it best to drive onto some shallow blocks first to get a bit more height?

Cheers

Jacking points are where any of the cross members join - you can tell them by following the line of screws that hold the floorplan on.

Alternativly the best place I've found in go in underneath the splitter and jack on the cross member that runs right the way from side to side at the start of the diffuser area - that then jacks up both rears at once and gives you more room under the side to do the front.

I'd ensure though that I had flat axle stands and placed them on cross members - I wouldn't fancy holding the car up onto the axels themselves for fear of damaging them.

However, I'd strongly advise you to find a two or four post lift if you are going to crawl underneath the car - there is not enough room for a person under there and I'd hate to loose you with it falling down

Failing that, make sure you get some solid blocks to place under the wheels once it's up to give you enough space in case it did come down.

When I needed to fix a flappy screw under the car, I drove round town till I found a really high curb (actually in a petrol station) and then popped 2 wheels up onto the curb. Easy.
