Sadly I've been proper turned over by Bill's latest Win 10 update.

Usually I eventually find a way out of his naughtiness, but this time it's not looking good.

So - noticed there was an update pending last night.

Duly clicked on update and restart in power button.

Went off to play while laptop did its thing.

Came back to see BSOD error code 0Xc000021a.

Tried all options to restore / repair but she's not interested.

Help please!

Looks like a file corrupted- if you need to do a factory reset, check my thread here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Long story cut short: download the W10 image on a usb, restart and go into the BIOS, change permissions as indicated in my thread, then start from USB. Once the computer does the reset, go back into bios and change the settings back to what they were.

Good luck.

And it’s gone badly wrong.

I couldn’t get my original Windows 10 to load so I used a USB Windows installation disc to load a new version.

All my files are on my drive but not installed in the new Windows.

Is it possible to tell Windows to revert back to the old version?

If not then I do have a Synology NAS with my old drive on it. I was using Comnso to write to this. Does anyone know how to do a full restore with this onto a new hdd?

I’ll keep the old drive in case it doesn’t work but I’m not going to keep using the new Windows.

Gutted.
