City centre "nightlife".
Discussion
I am curious, has city centre "nightlife" always been the way it has been?
Or did something change at some point in time where it became socially acceptable for city centres to look like this on weekends.

I have visited 90+ countries and the only ones that I can think of that come to closely resembling these are usually where British people go abroad.
Unless there are where I have missed them?

Have you just woken up from a coma? Hate to break it to you but there’s a pandemic going on - no city centres currently look like that. Or did something change at some point in time where it became socially acceptable for city centres to look like this on weekends.

Jamoor, it’s been like that for at least 40 years. What’s your point? What’s not acceptable about it? May I suggest you bore off and focus your concern on something else?
I’m an old fart who hasn’t been out in two decades, but when I was a kid I would have loved to do exactly what those kids are doing. Leave them alone they’re harmless.

You have definitely missed them ! or had a very odd choice of 90+ countries! Unless there are where I have missed them?
Maybe you stayed on the tourist routes and only met the Brits ? Or maybe you've gone to bed before the partying starts - our old licencing laws do mean we are out earlier finish earlier than others!
Try Moscow - it makes the girls in Newcastle look like they are wearing thermals

Moscow, fair enough I haven't seen it, but is this pattern then repeated across the whole of Russia? Maybe you stayed on the tourist routes and only met the Brits ? Or maybe you've gone to bed before the partying starts - our old licencing laws do mean we are out earlier finish earlier than others!

I think LKF in Central HK may be broadly similar, but even still I don't think we see the same level of debauchery.

Sights like those on the very aged article quoted are not uncommon across the world.Or did something change at some point in time where it became socially acceptable for city centres to look like this on weekends.

I’ve personally seen them across the US, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Oz, all of Europe, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, etc...
