Well I hope he is fine or recovers quickly.

Just as a question - what is a "local community beat manager"

They are Police officers who are dedicated to a particular geographic area (in Lancashire, these are defined by Council Ward boundaries).

They are resposnsible for the day-to-day "neighbourhood" policing of their area, and act as a "focus" for the local community.

They attend the local Policing meetings, and agree with communities what the Policing priorities for that area should be (as well as the ongoing Constabulary priorities).

CBMs are the modern day equivalent of the "local" Bobby.

Think I prefer Bobby on beat doing the rounds.

I hope the PC Lomas recovers though. Heard it on news yesterday.
