Allows you to add the widgets to your website to help boost conversion rates.
Allows you to invite your customers (automatically) to write a review.
You can integrate product reviews (although we have our own system so don’t bother with this extra feature).
Those are the main benefits. We’ve used for years and get around 800 reviews a month now.

Because they will delete bad reviews for businesses.
Not strictly true. I can report fraudulent reviews or reviews where a customer has not given any identifiable details, if the reviewer doesn’t comeback to provide this information then the review is removed. I can’t just delete a review!Whereas with Google, many reviews are left with no identifiable details and there’s no way to get more details or get reviews removed - basically means a competitor can bad mouth a business knowing the business can’t do much about it! We’ve taken to pushing ‘happy’ customers to leave a google review just to ensure our star rating is kept as high as possible.

I’d recommend reviews.io as an alternative.
We use them on two sites, have done for a good few years now and find it really good and a lot less money.
I would absolutely recommend the above. Reviews.io are cheaper, convert better, and we have a great relationship with them.We use them on two sites, have done for a good few years now and find it really good and a lot less money.

Why the hell is it so expensive??
Is there much benefit over a paid account to a standard account as their website doesn’t give much away...
Which platform is your website built on? I had this same issue, but found a Shopify app which is only £8/month rather than Trustpilot's £165/month:Is there much benefit over a paid account to a standard account as their website doesn’t give much away...
e.g. see under products here: https://www.limited100.co.uk/collections/aston-mar...

Alternatively, if you log into Trustpilot for Business you will see they do have some free widgets available, such as in the footer of my home page.

Some of these benefits can be accessed for free on their basic package too, although limitations do apply.Allows you to invite your customers (automatically) to write a review.
