Zoom Question

My son is doing his schooling via Zoom and up to now has been perfect. His first lesson this morning went ok, then for the second, the laptop is saying his passcode is incorrect. I've restarted the laptop, tried both the Zoom app and on the webpage. Nothing. Also made sure it wasn't a caps lock issue or number lock!

However, it works fine on his phone.

Anyone any ideas??

probably too late now

passcode is usually there to stop random people just joining any old zoom and is usually specific to the invite and included in the invite URL

is he using the full URL? and for the right 'lesson'

He should make sure he has a password for his account and a passcode for the room. I used to have problems with this when people came to my sessions but they were entering the wrong pass**** in whatever box.

Like other have said.

One password to log into the zoom account, then a room password which will probably be in the same email as the room link.

The room password will be different for every room, account password will not change.

You might find when using the phone app it might fill in the room password automatically which is why it works.

He was doing everything correctly on both the laptop and his phone.

He attended the lesson on his phone and I tried again about ten minutes from the end on the laptop and it accepted the passcode. Perhaps just a kink in the system.

That's very strange. One thing that often gets me stumped with a Zoom problem - a new update is released and I'm not aware of it. Right click the icon and hit "check for updates". They are never very backwards compatible.
