I picked up an '07 2.4i 5 cylinder. 2 tyres good, 2 not so good & the wheels have been VERY badly 'refurbed' in the past. Paint peeling off & air escaping through oxidisation. I've looked at secondhand ebay items at around £300/set, but used & a bit scuffed, or aftermarket alloys from around £400 upwards. Any thoughts on refurbing the existing wheels? How much??
Also, no air con: I understand the condensers rot on this model, so if its not just a £50 re-gas, what sort of ££ am I looking at?

My V50 had 18inch machine finished wheels - refurbed at £50 a wheel, probably cheaper if straight painted.
The P1 Volvos has a condenser mounted behind the radiator which is easy enough to remove in the pre-facelifts, but in my 2008 V50 it was housed in the same mounting as the radiator and much more involved.
In the end, I paid £200 for a new condensor to be fitted. Its a Ford part I believe which fits a variety of Mk2 Focus etc

Info much appreciated!
I suspect the condenser is knackered, so £200 doesn't sound unreasonable. Will look at doing it in the spring....

Do you know what alloys you have on it? I had the 18" Atreaus wheels on mine and they are diamond cut only which is nearer £100 a wheel. If your going for a standard colour then I would go with £50 a wheel.

If your looking into maybe changing wheels, a few C30 owners run Jag alloys as I think they have the same offset. If you on FB check out the C30 Owners club. Alot are into modding cars, but loads of good information and a good bunch if you ask questions.

I'd echo that re diamond finishing. The lacquer on my refinished wheels was done in after a couple of years. It was £50 a wheel as it was cash in hand. I won't be having diamond cut wheels again, particularly on a daily!!

I may have a set of 17" wheels off a C30 that I'm using for parts if you're interested, and/or anything else you may need.

The one I’m using parts from is a 1.6d R design 2008.
