Super simple 2d dimension drawing tool?
Discussion
I don't want to do anything fancy. I don't want to waste another lunch hour trying to figure out how SketchUp or LibreCad work. All I want to do is draw some rectangles, drag them around until they are spaced properly, and therefore decide where to hang some pictures on a wall!
SketchUp and LibreCAD are meant to be user-friendly but within moments I was having to learn about layers and polylines and all sorts of stuff that is totally beyond me. Is there something like Paint, but which allows me to set dimensions for simple shapes and the spaces between them? SmartDraw seems OK but I don't really want to pay for a whole drawing package for such a simple task.
Thanks!

What machine are you using (Mac or Windows)?
If a Mac, for what you want, you could well get away with using Keynote.
Go into the options and change ruler units from pts to cm or inches, then just draw some rectangles, which you can edit the size of?
Other option is to use LibreOffice (free) which will work on both Mac and Windows AFAIK.
Use the "Draw" tool, and right click on rectangles to show/change their location and size.
