Evening.

I am looking at a couple of bikes that are unfortunately a distance away from me.
Is there a reputable motorcycle pre-purchase inspection company or individual that can be recommend?.
Looking at Manchester area and Coventry.

Cheers.

I've never found a good service - the AA / RAC ones are a joke, there are a few specialists who will do it for certain makes though.

What bikes are they ?

I'm not too far from Cov. I'm no expert, but I could at least check for any major faults and opook through the paperwork...

One is an RG500 the other is an RC30. Neither is one I want to be trusting the seller over the phone without either looking at personally or having a knowledgable person casting an eye on them.

What information do you have on these bikes? They are both quite coveted which usually means they should be reasonably well looked after; the kind of bikes an enthusiast tends to own.

However, given their age, it's not unlikely they may have some issues.

For RC30's, these guys live and breath them: https://performance-engineering.co.uk/ you may be able to get some pointers on what to ask people to look for if you get someone to inspect that bike for you.

Had long conversations with both owners and have numerous pictures and documents. Just would rather have someone cast an eye and ensure everything is as mentioned.

Considering the bikes, id say my original statement is the best option...

You'll find some willing anoraks to look over these for your if you reach out on the owners forums...That said, covid may make people think twice over that type of "essential journey" but thats what I would try first.

Too valuable for me. Good luck, though

I certainly wouldn’t like the responsibility of inspecting a bike for someone else. Especially not the bikes the OP is considering unless you know them inside out.

There’s far too many things to be missed.

I suggest you try the owners clubs to see if someone there will be willing to do it. If you’re lucky especially with the RC 30 someone might even recognise the bike and know it’s history.
