E89 zed4 roof problems.

My E89 zed4 roof operation has got problems. Last tried it starts to open then red roof light displays and it stops . I’m hoping a recommended German car indi pendant can find the problem. Anyone had similar experience?

May be battery related. my E46 had the same issues especially if it hadn't been started in a while. A good run to top up the battery charge worked and eventually I changed out the battery and all worked. May be worth a try?

Thankyou yes I should have said battery has been replaced as a start point.

It’s normally the micro switches that fail along the c pillar in the boot
