So, 2011 V8V N420. I have the normal Bluetooth module from factory, not the improved version to stream also music.

Worked like a charm since forever; the other day, I was in the car with everything off and I receive a call. I proceed on taking it from my Apple Watch. Meanwhile, I turned on the car, so after some seconds, the call goes from my watch to the car's BT. When it's time to end the call, I press the button on the steering wheel and nothing happen. I ended up ending the call from the watch or phone, but on the center display there is the caller name stuck along with DIALING.

I found out that by keeping pressed the PHONE button for some time, you can turn off BT. Center stack is now back to normal (radio, climate etc. are showing), so I drive around like this for a while. As far as I know there is not really a way to turn on BT again with the PHONE button, just a power cycle.

Just to be sure, after said power cycle, I deleted the phone from the car and paired it again, no problems...

...until the other day. I drove around with the phone connected, seemingly normally. Then I proceed to call someone from the car's contact list synched via BT, I can hear the phone ringing through the car speakers but the person does not pick up. I press the "end call" button on the steering wheel and the call does not stop and the caller name is stuck again on the center display (along with DIALING) after ending the call via phone.

This was a week ago, haven't use it since. What I did was again completely delete the phone from my car, delete the car from the phone and waiting; hopefully next time all will be resolved?

In the meantime, do you people have familiarity with this behaviour? Any tips?

Cheers.

Seems odd, I haven't had any issues in my 2009 Vantage. Usually a reset would clear this and the reset would normally be what you have done.

Have you paired another phone to it and see if it does it again, perhaps an Android phone or something opposite of what you have ?

OP - the problem isn't actually related to your car - it's what we in software call the handoff between your apple devices.

In simple terms - all of your devices have to be in sync to start or end the call and handle notifications and events. This can happen in areas where the signal isn't so great - or even as a result of a software issue that may have been introduced.

Wouldn't worry too much. From what you describe it's not the car.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Chris.

As far as I know you can operate the Bluetooth phone connection from buttons on the waterfall as well as on the wheel (well, you can on my 2015 V8V). If you can do the same have you tried the buttons on the waterfall? Just in case there is a problem with the steering wheel connection.

Just an idea. Apologies if it doesn't apply.

Thanks guys.

Haven't tried another phone, my girlfriend has an iPhone too, no Android available. But I can try with hers to "unblock" the situation if it's still stuck.

Thanks Woodsy, I am somewhat familiar with the handoff you describe. I think by having an active call on the Apple Watch (which is connected to the iPhone via BT) while turning on the car, I created something the car could not resolve. I just hope as you say, that by deleting everything and leaving it be for days, all will be resolved.

LTP, waterfall buttons were fine after the first "reset". By pressing PHONE I could see my operator and my iPhone's name on the display, I could navigate the contacts and so on. The problems start when you need to end a call, it is like the phone is not sending the finished call signal to the car. I have no reason to believe steering wheel buttons are KO.

I will report back once I will try again in some more days, still nowhere to go thanks to the pandemic.

I have connected my iPhone 12 Pro again, no problem in doing it.

I have yet to receive any call while driving, so I haven't tested this 100% yet. Will report back.

Ok, had the chance to test this out and all seems back to normal

So, if it happens to you, turn off the car's BT, unpair the phone from the car, delete the car from the phone and start from scratch.
