2nd Car V8 Itch

Time that v8 itch was finally scratched i think.
I've been toying with the idea of a second car to keep putting so many miles on my r26 (currently a daily car) for humdrum duties.
I don't do many miles really so i have no issue with costs on fuel/tax/insurance and i'm happy to wrench on the spanners to do whatever needs doing so i'm not fussed overly by maintenance costs.
As such, the idea of a v8 has been stewing in my head for a while and i found myself looking at the CLS55/63. For the money that they are i think they are a cracking car. Preferably silver with black leather. Circa 12k for one with about 80-100k. Again, not looking to keep it long term so i don't really mind losing a bit on it or buying a "mint" example.
That got me thinking, what other v8's are out there that would do 4 seats and comfort mixed with v8 snarl. I'm always after a keen drivers car and while the CLS isn't exactly that, i do that that they aren't all that bad on the sports side of things. So the "drivers" part may be the compromise. We will see.
So what other options could there be? Category cars don't bother me either. I am just looking to keep it under/around 13-15k if i can.
Prefer 4/5 doors and not 2 doors.

Both sound awesome and done all their depreciating. The former is a sleeper, the latter being the full Ronin experience.
The s8 is super cool however with carbon ceramics brakes are mega money to replace and you cant convert to steels cheaply either! At the OP's sort of money I would be careful. Jaguar XJR. Imagine an MMA fighter in a Saville Row suit, and you get the idea.
Lexus LS. You'll look like Doc Martin, but every journey will leave you more relaxed at the end than when you started.
Merc S-Class (including AMG variants). If you don't mind looking like you're on an airport run, this is the car for you!
BMW 7-Series. Stunning value for money, thanks mainly to looks only its mother could love.
Range Rover. Certainly not a driver's car in the traditional sense, but still an event every time you get behind the wheel. Driving a nice example will ruin all other cars for you, in the same way as popping your cherry with Claudia Schiffer would ruin women for you.

Yeah the discs are like £2k a pop right - not sure that is on the list. I factored in about 2k for discs and pads into a separate consumable budget, but if i can find an s8 with decent discs and pads i am only planning on keeping the car for 12 months and only about 4k miles. So it could be doable. I do like the idea of Ronin / Transporter style. Cheers

Very much doubt you'd loose money on one. Reckon they are primed to become classics.
Good drive too, feel like a dirty great go-kart.
Only downside is, the Ford V8 in them is a bit of a boat anchor and doesn't make all that much power. They aren't slow.... but they aren't fast either. But the performance is very street friendly and usable. You can tune them if you want more poke and some people add superchargers, but this can get pricey.

You can definitely get an early xfr within that budget - although that green example is lovely. I've had mine for 6 months and it been great. Sounds utterly brutal with a spires stage 2 exhaust - which seems to be be a common modification.
Mine came with Dunlop sport maxx tyres fitted and, although they have plenty of tread, they really struggle with the power even in the dry. I would budget £700 for a set of Michelin pilot sport 4 if not already fitted.
