BBC said:
A special Crown Office unit set up to probe Covid-linked deaths is investigating cases at 474 care homes in Scotland, the BBC can reveal.

The unit was set up in May to gather information on the circumstances of all deaths in care homes.

Prosecutors will eventually decide if the deaths should be the subject of a fatal accident inquiry or prosecution.

Care homes say the investigation is "disproportionate" and placing a huge burden on overstretched staff.

The Covid-19 Deaths Investigation Team (CDIT) had received 3,385 death reports as of Thursday.

The majority of them relate to people who lived in care homes.

I’m sure “lessons will be learned”. And millions spent on inquiry after inquiry.

I had a phone call from Police Scotland a few days ago.

PS: "We understand that your 87 year old aunt died of Covid-19. Have you any concerns about how she contracted this and how she was looked after in XXX Care Home?"
Me: "The care home and their staff looked after my aunt very well and I have no concerns about her care. Having kept her free from the risk of infection in the home, unfortunately she had a serious fall due to her condition (dementia with Lewy Bodies, if anyone is interested) and after consultation with me, the home reluctantly took her to hospital for tests and x-rays. While in a major Glasgow hospital, she contracted Covid-19 and died 9 days later. I don't have any concerns about the home, however about the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital I'm not so sure"
PS: "Oh, thanks...we'll get back to you."

Outgoing Scottish Health Minister (and overweight smoker) Jeane Freeman is a dyed-in-the-wool Communist and has it in for the private care home operators. She published incorrect guidelines away back in April commanding hospitals to send elderly patients on a one-way trip into the care-home sector before they had received the results of tests for Covid, and if found to be positive were not to be returned to hospitals. The advice she issued differed from the rest of the UK in that there was no provision for clinicians to have discretion on who might be retained in hospital because they were at risk of already having Covid or potentially already showing symptoms. Her flawed advice was expunged from the ScotGov website (on the same weekend Dominic Cummings was dominating the headlines - a great time for her to bury bad news) and replaced a few days later with something that more closely resembled the UK advice.

She has since tried to pin the blame for her negligence and incompetence on the care home owners because her socialist beliefs tell her they deserve to take the blame. Unfortunately she will probably pass her already tendered date for retirement before facing the music for her actions.
