Ford Transit Connect with a kid?
Discussion
Hey
Looking at getting a FT Connect L2 to replace my car. The rear seats spend half their time down transporting stuff to the tip or fitting in timber for DIY projects, plus we have a dog and the crate takes up the whole boot! It would also be handy to take bikes or when we go camping to fit everything in.
The problem is that we have a 1 year old so I am not convinced fitting a baby seat and having my wife as a passenger is going to even fit, let along be comfortable?
I would spec the dual passenger option but one seat looks very small.
Anybody have a Connect or similar with dual passenger seat and use it for a baby seat and additional passenger?
With lockdown, I can’t easily go and look at one and try it out so asking before I make a decision.

For comparison, we have a Transit Custom, with 3 seats in the front, so a bit bigger.
It's ok with 3 up front, but not really comfy, can take a bit of finding the right position and wouldn't really want to go more than 1/2 hour like it
Thanks, I think I will look at the crew cab LWB L2 option then as I can then just fold the rear seats up and have almost the same floor space anyway. It's ok with 3 up front, but not really comfy, can take a bit of finding the right position and wouldn't really want to go more than 1/2 hour like it
Seems a decent compromise.
I have the connect Torneo as a family car , its the best family car ive ever owned , the glass roof gives loads of light inside which is often a drawback of vans
It can swap between being a van or a family car with a few clicks, car speed limits also apply , not vans on DCs
Drawback is that is not quite as practical as a van for van duties, but nearly there
