201 vs 242bhp gte?

Can some one who knows the range explain. I read that a gte was 242hp but we’ve seen 1.4 gte 2020 models with 201 hp? Is it an earlier version something different ? I think we want a gte advance (used) but a bit confused about the bhp differences

IIRC correctly the mk8 is 242bhp while the mk7 is 204. There are (were) a few late mk7s knocking around unsold at dealers so they may have been registered in 2020. Not driven a mk8, but had a mk7 GTE for 4 years and nearly 100k miles. Aside from a couple of minor issues, it was fantastic.
