Sure we've all come across a few so how about a sharing session? 
Needed to swap the mic on my VHF so pulled the whole unit out this weekend, and I mean pulled! Assumed it was held in by a couple of fascia brackets but no, a healthy dollop of bathroom silicone had been the preferred method!
A bit of OCD time had it all put right but it makes me wonder what else is hidden away.
