Hi all
Been offered a build slot for a gt4 this week and I’d get the car in April.
The opc needs the final build to lock down by the 27th. (This Wednesday)
Anyone able to offer a bit of advice please ?
I’m tempted to go pdk. In silver. Bose. Led lights. That’s about it
Anything else that are considered must haves ?
Cheers

Ditch Bose.

Get buckets.

Add other stuff to taste.

What’s the score with Climate, Cruise and Heated Seats - are they now standard on a GT4 ?

PDK vs manual has been done to death - there is no right answer just personal preference. No one’s opinion is more valuable than your own. When I get my PDK I’ll be able to give an opinion on what they are like next to each other.

Buckets - broadly agree, most people will say get them. I would say - and this is possibly difficult given covid - sit in one first. If you hate it it will ruin your purchase. Also you will notice there are no videos of people getting out of these seats as it’s not very glamorous. They are a little body habitus dependent as well in terms of comfort.

GT silver looks great with the standard platinum wheels. Again get any colour you like, everyone has a different opinion.

LEDs make the car look prettier but are not necessary. Of course they are ‘better’ than the standard but you may never need them. I specced them as they look nice.

I would go for the smoking pack for the full £38 quid to cover the hole in the centre console!

Would also say the interior upgraded leather is a must. Makes the whole car look better. If you go for the silver stitching you then don’t pay for the extra 800-900 for the different stitching colours that you will if you pick yellow or red. But again go with what you like. If you go red/yellow you can go nuts with all sorts extra decorative touches.

Happy shopping

Are speed humps a problem with the gt4 ? If driving over them sensibly

I would suggest dual climate over the standard air-con. Even my wife’s £18K SEAT Arona has dual climate as standard!

I’d opt for the PDLS xenon headlights too - the standard ones are low power xenons. Or go fo the LEDs (which are standard on a SEAT too!)

I was surprised in two ways;

1 Speed humps are not really a problem, just take it slow, and there you go

2 My parking garage slope is to steep, it wil scratch my front bumper. Have to find a solution for that.

Anybody ideas?

IMHO spec should be down to personal preference. My 718 GT4 is pretty basic no seat upgrades, no dual climate, no PCCB’s, no leather dash, basic headlights.. but it looks and drives amazingly.... in Racing Yellow. 11 months into ownership WeBuyAnyCar will give me back a few quid more than I paid for it (I checked on Saturday just out of interest). Not that I’m ever planning on selling it.... All I’m saying is spec it to £100k if YOU want to, but don’t fear choosing a car that costs well under £80k. In normal times, think of the road trips you could fund with your savings....

I would also suggest keeping the spec simple. Although I went with expensive options, there's really no point in trying to make it luxury.
Air con is fine for me, as dual does not feel any different IMO. Buckets will help with resale if you're not keeping it long term.

A wise man once said to me ‘Don’t spec YOUR car for the next owner’

Seems solid logic to me, only you know what you want so go with that

On the GTS 4.0 thread the consensus on BOSE is it’s a waste of money. I am beyond disappointed in it, so if you are to a budget you would be better off getting auto dimming mirrors and a couple of other things for the same money. Seriously.
