I'm looking to treat myself. I have 20k deposit and happy to pay around 600 per month with a balloon at the end for something that won't lose much in depreciation.
Current options seem to be a Cayman GT4 or a 991.1 GTS. What am I missing what else could that kind of money get me?

These would be both my first choices for a fun, slow depreciating car, with decent reliability.
Waiting for Audi to give me some figures on this

Love this but it'll be too rich for me

those R8s look lovely. Stick with the older one, softer on the wallet and depreciation will be less. Will feel more special than the Porsche, but as a Porsche owner myself (981) I love the practicality of two boots, understated nature and the ability to take the roof down.https://usedcars.audi.co.uk/usedcar/audi/r8/r8/pet...

Post back on here what they quote you for the R8.

The cheaper R8 is sold but they quoted me on the more expensive blue one. Post back on here what they quote you for the R8.
£20,000 deposit
4 years
10,000 miles per annum
£1,080 per month.
Ouch that feels very expensive

You could buy a Manual R8 V10 outright, insure, service and run it for a year or two for that kind of cash, that's what I'd be doing.
Edit because it's even worse than I thought.

Depends on where you buy the Porsche from, there's a massive mark-up at OPCs on the price, and they stiff you a bit on the Final Payment.
Your money would go further using a 3rd party finance house and buying from a reputable indy, but either of the 991.1GTS or Cayman GT4 would be good cars. If the 991 is your weapon of choice, and you're ok with PDK, have a look at the Gen 1 Turbo S as well.
But in general, GTS or GT products do pretty well on depreciation.

Outside idea for you, £20k in plus £25k bank loan give you £45k. That'll get you a GTS 981 Porsche, should be pretty okay depreciation wise and a lovely car. 9/10's a GT model unless you intend to track it.
HSBC will give you £25k over 4 yrs at the moment for £590/month, so in your budget, but you'll end up better off when you come to sell than going with the Audi option.
