The dealer I have used for the last few years has come up with a decent deal which I have taken him up on. I'm picking the new car up on Thursday.

But I'm starting to get a little paranoid that I really shouldn't be doing this during lockdown as a) it's not essential and b) the dealer is a about 50 miles away so not local (although in my defence, it's only about 15 miles away from where I work which is why I use him).

I know car dealers do a Click and Collect service which this effectively is and therefore allowed but do you think I'd be liable to a fine if pulled over by the police?

I would think it perfectly OK to use a service that is being offered.
I'd get an email confirmation of your collection details, print it off and take it with you - And if you are stopped you have proof of appointment..

That is my view too; it's not like I'm driving to see some snow or going to a fish and chip shop!

But a good idea to have proof with me. Thanks.
