Following up online job application
Discussion
How does one follow up an online job application?
I’ve filled in the online questionnaire and uploaded my cv and cover letter. I received an email confirmation saying ‘Application received. If we need to get in touch, we will’.
Ordinarily I’d be on the phone the following day, just as a ‘checking you got my stuff’ exercise and take it from there, but there are no (obvious) contact details, not even a generic email address, certainly no phone number or contact person. So I’m kind of sitting here twiddling my thumbs, hoping I get a response, which feels wrong.
I can, of course, trawl LinkedIn etc and get likely contacts.
Any thoughts?

A couple of times I have found details for jobs that I have applied for. Most of them never reply, of if they do its a normally a generic "we don't comment on individual applications"
In fact looking recently, job adverts are commonly having "If you don't hear from us within X days then consider your application unsuccessful"

Unfortunately the more job hunters the more this prevails, we do try in every instance to get a response out to everyone that applies even if not successful, it can be hard to keep up at times if you don't have a decent tech platform for hiring. In fact looking recently, job adverts are commonly having "If you don't hear from us within X days then consider your application unsuccessful"
