It's a nice looking car, but what a waste to buy it and just leave it gathering dust. Cars like this need to be appreciated and cherished, not locked up in a moth ball.
Incidentally, the new owner will be getting a nice chassis and body but who knows what state all the internals are in. I would expect to find internal corrosion, dried seals, and all the associated problems.

Wow indeed, wonderful oportunity for someone, like Peter says I don't think it will neccessarily be trouble free. If the tyres are original not sure what the 'lifex' of rubber is but I would be little concerned to give it some myself.
Anyone know what the extra red cable thingy is tied to the throttle cable in the engine picture

Personal viewpoint (obviously), but I can't comprehend making an 'offer over £15k' for this car.
If you wanted to do as the previous owner and keep it effectively as an ornament, then PH seems an odd place to advertise. Surely it would be better in a specialist auction?
If you wanted to buy the car to use it for its intended purpose, then as Pete has already said, the likelihood is that you'd have to deal with a catalogue of niggles (or worse), and after a couple of years of reasonable use, it would just be another good condition, low mileage V8S, and not really worth much more than any other good condition, low mileage V8S.
Low (or no) mileage doesn't necessarily mean good condition. How do you 'regularly exercise' a car without the wheels turning? Maybe you can warm the engine through, but the last time I looked, there was a bit more to a V8S than an engine on a stand.
Unless I had a huge fortune and was building a collection or a museum, I think I could find less risky automotive ways of parting with £15k.
Nevertheless, an interesting car. I hope the seller finds a buyer who is well matched to the car they are buying, and not just someone naive who thinks they are getting a 'new V8S'.

Sorry, Im not sure I was quite clear about where I was coming from. I think it's a fascinating vehicle. It would be great to own it, but what I was trying to say was it's only worth that money if you can afford to keep it as the 'novelty' (can't think of the right word) that it is now. As soon as you put 10 or 15k miles on it, it loses all of that.
My comments weren't so much about the seller (except possibly that it might be better placed elsewhere), but about the aspirations of the buyer. The only thing that makes it collectable (and therefore worth 50% more than its brothers) is that it's 'still in the box'. So the only thing that would keep it in that value range would be to keep it in the box. That's pretty risky for an ordinary punter. You'd have to look very carefully at the collectable car market and take a view on whether it would maintain, appreciate or depreciate in value.
I'd still pay 50p to have a look at it though

Not losing sight of the fact that V8S's are a fairly rare thing, and getting rarer.
Even after running it a for a few years on average Tiv mileage, say >5K miles pa, I would imagine it would be still be worth around the £13-16K mark if the conditon was maintained IMHO and the prices continue to firm up.

I've no idea who owned this car, or what else was in the collection but your question made be think of the "Patrick Collection" which is, or was, at Kings Norton near Birmingham. I have visited this collection a few years ago and recall that it contained many brand new cars that were bought specifically for the museum.
As for the brand new "V8S" available now, wouldn't it be great to see it and find out exactly what they looked like straight out of the factory? (We may even find out whether the pressure cap is fitted on the swirl pot or expansion tank

Does look lovely, but have to agree with rude girls comments on perceived value, and all those mentions of hardened seals/corroded switches etc.

Rude Girl, got to agree with Harry, there will always be a market for the V8S as some prefer them to the Chim/Grif (me included as a second car) they are also a rare sight unlike the newer Tivs exclusivity has a lot to do with the price! A 15K mile mint V8S SOLD last year for over 15K so its priced about right IMHO!
