Where do you buy odd fasteners when you snap one / round the head etc.? So far I have been buying them on ebay but its a pain, paying 5 quid in postage for a bolt or two then they arrive a week later and they are the wrong size or whatever. Screwfix / B&Q / Toolstation and the like don't seem to sell 8.8 class bolts of the right size. Google isn't locating a 'fasteners shop' nearby if such a thing is a thing.

This is definitely better value than ebay but still need to order by the 100 ... i suspect online is never going to be good value for 1 or 2 bolts.

I normally ‘buy’ a pocketful whenever I go to a scrapyard. Got a drawer in my toolbox dedicated to nuts, bolts, washers etc etc comes in very handy almost every time I’m working on a car.

Your location 'United Kingdom' doesn't help you.

If you are in the Leicester area 'All Screwed Up' on Cavendish Road are my 'go to'.

Find a couple of local fastners shops near you with a trade counter, turn up with the bolt/nut/whatever you need and they should be able to match them

Nobody can touch Screwfix for bolt ( set screw) prices. They are Chinese, that might put some people off. Can’t be many fastener manufacturers left in Europe.

General purpose bolts yes

Not too many car type ones e.g ones with a washer welded as part of the head and limited high tensile range

^^^ I would google search for industrial fasteners - there are quite a lot of small independents who normally have a trade counter as as someone has said, will match what you take them
