Bought the car as a shoddily swapped 328i but i had this swap planned before i bought didnt matter about the condition.
I know dakar isnt everyones cup of vodka but i love it and its the only factory wagon in the uk in this colour so that was also a factor.
Been on going for a while now jyst about everything is going to be either new or refurbished.

Wow, a Dakar touring! For some it might be marmite but I love Dakar, hardly ever see it so think that sort of amplifies the wow factor. There's a Dakar yellow E36 compact someone has owner near my hometown for easy 20 years and it still looks cracking... always hoped to catch them and see if they'll sell it.

That’s very very cool.

Anyone who doesn’t like Dakar Yellow is just wrong. Very wrong.

Now Wayne, Scott off the Lexus forum. Just watched the vids during early lunch, very cool.

A friend has just finished up sticking an s54 into an individual compact funnily enough, cant wait for a go. I like the idea of the s50 in yours, almost as if it would have been what bmw would (or should!) have done at the time.

I’m not sure PU bushes in the rear hub (where the M3 has ball joints) will work as well as the factory M3 items. (Not looking to find fault-just based on experience on fitting the M3 joints to all my E46s). The E36 has the same design.

Love it! In for updates and hopefully lots more detail. The first E36 M3 I saw back however many years ago was a Dakar coupe, it’s always 50x better to see interesting BMWs as a touring- whether Ashenhalen’s B10 Biturbo touring conversion, one of the factory interesting tourings on here or this one.

Very cool. I’d love a Dakar yellow or santorini blue e36 m3. Best colours imo.
I got taken for a spin in an AC schnitzer Dakar yellow m3 many years ago. It turned a few heads. Although that was partly due to the way it was being driven laugh
