Hi All long time lurker getting to a car post eventually,
Just purchased this new to me Fabia VRS,
I test drove one of these years ago but couldn't persuade the OH at the time, I remember being blown away by the dsg box and it was quick for a little 1.4, I was looking for an estate ideally but spotted this and the mileage, colour and price made it tough to look past, called the dealer and that was that, its getting delivered on Friday.
I'm aware of the potential issues and have a decent warranty so lets move on from that, I'll make sure its had the relevant updates and correct spark plugs and breather mod if necessary.
Looking to get it remapped and maybe lower it slightly but apart from that it will be pressed into daily driver duties.
Has the car been on here before?
Any reccomendations please feel free to comment.

I had one of these (estate) back in the day
It was great, I had it on H&R lowering springs - firm but made it sit better.
I also had a ITG Maxogen Induction kit and TMC tuning box fitted, now these made it a proper pocket rocket!
Unfortuantley I then suffered (at the time) unknown oil consumption issue and suitably the engine was totalled!
Good luck and enjoy.

Update time,
Had it for about 5 days now and got a few miles on it, have given it a decent wash and a good look over.
First impressions are it goes very well very nippy and the gearbox is awesome. I'll keep an eye on the oil consumption closely but all seems well. Mpg is around 35 but we will see after a tank of decent fuel how it goes.

I've had mine for almost 8 years now. Yes, it burns some oil but not a huge amount and it's my weekend car so doesn't do big mileages - nearly 10 years old and on 76k miles. Other than the Braid wheels, it recently had Bilstein B8 dampers and Eibach springs fitted, not cheap but really good; improves the ride significantly over stock as well. And it has a RARB, an essential mod! It is great fun to drive but it's what I would call an 8/10ths car; go beyond that and it gets a bit unruly and loses composure!

Hi all, 6 months into ownership now and all is well in vrs land I'm happy to report no oil burning issues, I'm still very happy with the purchase and it's serving me well so here's a few pic's of the car.

I've lowered it on some - 40mm H&R springs, changed the top mounts while I was there and generally just took my time and gave it a good clean up painting a few bits that were showing a bit of light corrosion.

Below photo showing the new lowered stance innit! Well down with the kids.
Happy with how it drives on the springs and corners flat but still gives a decent ride, probably a bit better than stock.

Changed the cabin filter, there things are my bugbear, why don't they get changed by garages more often? It's literally what your breathing through???
Fitted a Chinese android stereo off amazon but can't seem to find any pics, anyway it was easy to fit sounds great and looks good too, i'll takes some and upload when I remember.
I may look into a remap soon as revo are offering £400 and 220bhp approx so that would be interesting, also looking into a resonator delete to free up some exhaust noise as it's a bit too quiet for a nippy little go cart.
I've cleaned it a fair bit and used meguiars spray on ceramic detailer and very happy with the results and protection it offers, I have finished the bottle now and looking at other products to try so if you have any recommendations please let me know.
Cheers all.
