honda monkey 125 - anyone manage to get money off rrp?

hi all, looking to buy my first bike and have decided on one of the new honda monkeys with the 125cc engine. just wondering if anyone on here has bought one recently and has been able to get a decent discount on one? looking at brand new not pre-reg or ex demo.

Hardly any left new in the UK so don't count on a discount, New 5 speed model due April May time just sold a secondhand one for more than full retail!

The Monkey has been discontinued for 2021 due to Euro 5 legislation. The Grom will appear this year in Euro 5 spec and with a 5 speed gearbox.
I suggest you ring around the dealers to see if there are any Monkeys left in stock.. Honda UK do not have any.

I had a yellow Monkey and sold it after 15 months. I missed it and regretted selling it, so yesterday I took delivery of a secondhand Red Monkey with £2500 worth of modifications.

If you are not lightweight you will need to do something with the suspension and I suggest you change the stock tyres for something with better grip.

I would like to see an upgraded Monkey for 2022 with a five speed gearbox and the Euro 5 engine from the Grom. At the moment there are no plans for this.

From a conversation I had yesterday the Monkey will not be arriving this year.

Honda UK (and probably other manufacturers) have problems with the supply of bikes at the moment.

The container ships have been diverted from UK ports due to congestion and are somewhere in Europe!

is there going to be a 5 speed model then? i cannot find any info on it on the net, only the grom appears to be getting the 5 speed and i think this is because its a new model so has to meet Euro 5 regs. the monkey being a continuation of a model introduced pre-Euro 5 will retain the Euro 4 engine.
