Hi all,

New AM owner here. I'm 2 months into owning my 2006 DB9 Volante and have been having some issues. It all started with a trunk lock malfunction which seems to have been related to the convertible top no longer operating-it would open a couple inches then freeze and start beeping. The mechanic I'm using in San Francisco reprogrammed the top to close and since the trunk and convertible top are interrelated, replaced the truck lock mechanism.

This seemed to work great, and I took the car home and didnt drive it much for the last 2 weeks. Today I drove it and the convertible top did the same thing-unlatched, opened an inch and froze.

It has been raining a lot, and I also street park the car (I know..not the right move) because it is a few inches too long for my garage. I try to keep it covered. But, I'm wondering if this mechanical failure or electrical programming error is either due to 1) water (no obvious signs..) or 2) my driving patterns. There's really no where to drive to or reason to leave the neighborhood in Covid..

Any help would be very much appreciated. I'm already deep into expenses on this, and hoping there's an easy fix. I've thought it might be as simple as getting a battery conditioner, but as I don't have a plug nearby, maybe trying out the solar charger.

Any thoughts welcome! Thank you!

Is the shop in San Francisco or down in San Mateo?

In San Francisco, not the official AM shop but someone who specializes on European sports cars

Talk to Robbie and Praveen at Peninsula in San Mateo. They're pretty solid when it comes to stuff like this and may be able to help. I've sent a lot of people to them that came away very happy.
