Remapping F30 320i
Discussion
I've seen various forum posts saying 320i remap well to roughly 328i levels and that the engines/turbos are very similar between the 328i and 320i.
What I want to know is how well the autobox etc holds up over the longer term with a (gentle & decent quality) remap in place. Has anybody had a map in place for a few years and can give me any feedback?
It's not a money thing, i've been searching for a 328i for a long while now, and cannot find one with the right spec. 320i however are fairly plentiful. It's just that when I test drove one it felt a bit flat.
It would be an auto, touring, non-X drive that I'm after.
Thanks

It's the pistons and compression ratio that differ between the 320i and 328i. The 328i is 10:1 and the 320i is 11:1 which is just too high to be increasing too much. Map a 320i to 250 bhp and it will go pop. A mate is workshop controller at a BMW dealership and there are a few 320i warranty claims being kicked out when a 320i s
