I don't really know what to say.
He shouts a lot, Mythbusters bloke is a horse's ass.
It's stupid.
I've watched the first one, I won't be watching any more.

Mrs wasn’t very impressed; we both fell asleep. Not sure we will watch the rest either... which is a shame.

My 9 year old enjoyed it. Seems like the target audience.

I believe it's intended for children.

That would explain a lot.
I'm not sure it is though.

It’s a shame because it is so similar to a GT story line, “Here is a challenge, get off this island”, something we’ve seen CHM do many times, I think the story telling element of it kind of killed it a bit- and let’s be honest during the first lockdown the one thing that we all wished for For the grand tour specials to be bulk released

Agreed.

I thought it might be that, or a kind of mythbusters type thing, but after 2 minutes it was obvious it was for kids.

Interestingly Mythbusters is on Prime, all seasons/episodes, used to really like that show back in the day.

I'm a big fan of CHM but this was all over the place.
Premise looked good but execution was awful. Im sure it wasn't aimed at kids initially but after getting back to the cutting room decided it was easier to say it was for kids.

Watched the first twenty minutes of so of episode one - surely it's aimed at kids?

all over the place, shouty, unclear target - certainly won't be troubling our ISP bandwidth any further. Pity it could have been so good given the budget...

Watching it right now.

No matter who it is aimed at, kids or adults, it is terrible.

I managed ten minutes. Thought my 9 year old son might like it but now not so sure.

It's not great

What's really annoying is that it could have been good. The premise (although contrived) is solid, and obviously the budget is there. I don't even mind Hammond as much as others do, quite like some of his engineering documentaries.
There was a similar programme a few years ago with a plane crashed in the desert, make a vehicle from the wreckage to escape, which was pretty good.

A wasted opportunity

Watched the first episode. the buggies were fun but I'd like top see more of how they're actually built. And the 'storyline'/interview room stuff was just weird.

Yeah, wasn't the program with Ant Middleton? A group of 4 or 5 had to make a boat/car/plane to get out of some survival situation. It was a good series, shame it wasn't continued.
