Replacement MacBook Air battery
Discussion
I have an old MacBook Air 13 from maybe 2013-15 era that works fine apart from the battery.
I see replacing is straightforward and eBay / amazon has plenty of batteries for between £40-80.
Apple can do replacements for £129 though I presume Apple stores (or authorised resellers which by nearest is) will be shut right now. I don’t fancy sending the laptop away.
Many of the reviews of the eBay / amazon batteries are very positive but some reviews say they don’t know how well it will last and the positive review Is when the battery is new after installing.
There are however enough reviews saying their battery died after 6 - 12 months to suggest these replacements are maybe a bit crap.
From what I’ve seen you can’t buy the genuine Apple batteries and everything new on eBay or amazon will be a cheap copy. Is that right ? Or does anyone have a view on a trusted source of genuine Apple batteries?
Thanks in advance
