Sounds like the woman resposible for tackling UK booze related Anti-Social Behaviour had a sandy or two before speaking to Home Office Dinner.

Think a P45 will sober her up before long.

Yes and that's one of the many reasons why I no longer imbibe.


That's OK thou, the woman that founded Mothers Against Drunk Driving in the U.S. got picked up for D.U.I. after she founded that organization.

For some reason that cracks me up.

I used to work at an advertising agency where being pissed in the afternoon wasn't just expected, it was encouraged.

I once took a 'long lunch' with some colleagues - in the sense that we only returned to the office at 6pm to pick up our bags. Expected a bollocking but actually received a congratulatory slap on the back.

Many, many times. Up until a couple of years ago it was quite normal for me to be pi$$ed up in the office every Friday afternoon (if I went back from lunch that is!).

Don't really miss it that much.

When I used to work in the city, we used to have a tradition of going to the Fox and Anchor, at Smithfields market when anyone left their job. Only difference being that it opens at 7am, so it used to be a huge fryup and 3-4 pints of Guinness, then off to work. And all before 9am.

I used to work in Farringdon and this was a tradition with the filing clerks, may have been a different pub though? Never went along myself, always seemed to coincide with my early shift.

Did manage a couple of beaujolais breakfasts though and turned up for work a bit jollier than usual.

Seems to be a london thing. We have offices across the country, but you can guarantee the london ones are the first to slack off. Once their internet link broke, so they all went to the pub. for 2 days.
